Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
Dr. Alan Carpenter, founder of the Upper Valley Urgent Care Center, was born in Denver, Colorado. Part of a military family, his childhood was spent moving around the United States – however he calls Derby, Kansas his home. Dr. Carpenter received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from University of California, Berkeley and Doctorate of Osteopathy by Iowa State University. Dr. Carpenter is certified by the Texas Board of Internal Medicine and the Texas Board of Nuclear Medicine.
Dr Carpenter is 26 year retired Lieutenant Colonel for the US Army, aviation physiologist, a former fighter pilot, and helicopter mechanic; Dr. Carpenter brings 18 years experience as an emergency room physician to his practice.
In 2006, Dr. and Norma Carpenter opened the Upper Valley Urgent Care Center with the mission to service El Paso with 5-star minor medical service at a fraction of the cost of emergency rooms.
Dr. Carpenter spends his free time as a recreational pilot and riding his 4 horses.
